Kissing and cuddling while in a Christian dating relationship, Pastor Jim shares his thoughts about physical contact while dating. What are your thoughts? Do you agree? Give this advice piece a read and let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Today I received an email asking whether or not kissing and cuddling are considered a sin. There is nothing sinful about the activity of kissing or cuddling, depending upon the definition one gives to these words. When is it okay and when is it something that becomes unhealthy?
Is Making Out A Sin?
I was 17 when I experienced my first real kiss on the lips. On the other hand it is quite Biblical! And that brings us to an important question. Are you kissing outside of your marriage?
When I say kiss I don’t mean making out or French kissing but I also don’t mean a As a Christian, what is your view on romantic dating relationships (hugging.
When is a kiss just a kiss — or more? A detailed guide to a lost manly art. The unitive purpose implies the celebration of the existing marital love covenant. In other words, sexual pleasure may be sought only in marriage. And, the procreative purpose means the act itself is open to having children, regardless of the intention of the married couple.
In other words it must be a complete marital act. It is not licit to seek sexual pleasure apart from a complete non-contracepted marital act. The point is that, for single people dating, it is immoral to seek sexual pleasure in any action. Simple enough. However, there has to be a bit more to it than that.
After all, some may argue and some do that they are not seeking sexual pleasure in their sexual encounters, but just to show affection. What, then, would be another reasonable criterion to judge by? The nature of the activity.
Should Christians Wait Until Marriage To Kiss?
Many unmarried Christian couples wonder is making out a sin? Once you start kissing you can only move forward and go deeper. It is a huge temptation and that is why it is a good thing when couples decide not to kiss before marriage.
Is kissing an innate or learned behavior? In the Histories, which date back to the 5th century BCE, Herodotus speaks of kissing among the Persians, Early Christians often greeted one another with a “holy kiss”, which was.

Why Christians Should Kiss “Sexual Purity” (As We Know It) Goodbye…
I grew up in the thick of the evangelical purity culture. I dressed how I wanted to dress. I wore a two-piece bathing suit and crop tops.
This doesn’t mean that we should regard all kisses with a dating partner or with someone we love as sinful. Mutual affection between loving.
Many societies have traditions which involve kissing. Kissing can indicate joy or be used as part of a greeting. Kissing involves the touching of one’s lips to the lips or other body part, such as the cheek, head or hand of another person. Sometimes people often kiss their friends and or best friends as a way of giving luck or even showing feelings. In the Western world , a kiss is a common gesture of greeting , and at times a kiss is expected.
Throughout all cultures people greet one another as a sign of recognition, affection, friendship and reverence. Depending on the occasion and the culture, a greeting may take the form of a handshake , hug , bow , nod , nose rub , a kiss on the lips with the mouth closed or a kiss or kisses on the cheek. Cheek kissing is most common in Europe and Latin America and has become a standard greeting in Latin Europe. While cheek kissing is a common greeting in many cultures, each country has a unique way of kissing.
In Ecuador, women kiss on the right cheek only and in Oman it is not unusual for men to kiss one another on the nose after a handshake. French culture expects kisses on the cheek in greeting, though the customs differ. Two kisses are most common throughout all of France but in Provence three kisses are given and in Nantes four are exchanged. Kissing quickly on the lips with the mouth closed is a common greeting in some places of Western culture such as South Africa.
Ask Aysha: “When It Comes to Kissing, How Far Is Too Far?”
I know that kissing can sometimes lead to worse things. So what is your advice on kissing? How far is too far? This can be a very complicated and controversial question. My thoughts are on the conservative side because our job as believers is to glorify Christ in everything we do—even dating!
It’s way too hot for dating couples, but God-designed for married couples. Many teens also feel that French kissing is not intended for unmarried.

Christian Dating & Kissing
Dating means all types of things. You found someone to go out to dinner with and talk to about things that you have on your mind. You can take long walks, and make plans.
The couple abstained from every sexual activity, including kissing until marriage, and shared an uncomfortable first kiss at their wedding.
Is kissing before marriage okay to do? Q: I am just wondering if a young couple striving for purity and holiness together should not kiss each other until the altar or even just until engagement. And that is a really awesome thing. So to you who wrote in with this question — I just have to take a minute and say: way to go. Way to go in thinking ahead, making plans, and setting boundaries in your relationship so that you can honor God and one another in the process.
Just by doing those simple things you are way ahead of the game. Looking back, the first time I ever heard of this concept was actually during one of my classes in Christian college. Fast forward 15 years from the very first time I heard about this concept — and my perspective on this topic has shifted. Working with these couples was intense, but it opened my eyes to the idea that often times, in an effort to protect ourselves from crossing the line of physical boundaries, we actually shame ourselves toward purity rather than empower ourselves toward it.
But let me unpack that a little bit.
